ICOS Corporation Facility Feasibility Study
Customer: ICOS Corporation
Project Location:Bothell, Washington
ICOS Corporation was the largest biotechnology company in Washington State before its sale to Eli Lilly and Company in 2007. ICOS began operations in 1990 after being co-founded by George B. Rathmann, previously Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and co-founder of Amgen and a pioneer in the biotechnology industry. The company focused on developing drugs to treat inflammatory disorders, and became a commercial manufacturing organization for the production of phase 1 and 2 monoclonal antibodies.
The Challenge
ICOS required a feasibility study and capital estimate for a 14,000 sf build-out of an existing shell to house a multi-use biopharmaceutical development facility. The project included space planning, flow sheet development for process scale-up, and sequential build-out definition.
The Solution
Harris Group provided a feasibility study that provided the approach to meet the goals of the project.
The Benefits
The feasibility study allowed ICOS the opportunity to review overall plans and approach to expanding their operations, improving their compliance and optimizing their process.
