Cherokee County Combined-Cycle Project

This project is an 107 MW (net) natural gas fired combined-cycle combustion turbine power plant and associated facilities for ammonia absorption refrigeration (AAR), ice-production and storage, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) production.
Steam from the power plant is used to provide refrigeration for ice and LNG production, qualifying the facility as a "QF" under Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's PURPA rules.
Support systems include the fuel transfer systems, water treatment and waste water disposal systems, lubrication system, control systems, compressed air system, electrical systems, fire protection systems, and other systems required to make this a completely integrated powerhouse facility.
Harris Group provided owner's engineering services, detailed engineering, and start-up and commissioning support for the balance of plant portion of this project.
