Process Control/Automation Engineer

Harris Group, a national consulting firm specializing in engineering and architecture, is presently seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Process Control/Automation Engineer to be located in our Seattle, WA office.
This position offers the opportunity to work in various growing fields such as Biopharmaceutical, Biorefining, Power Generation, Water and Wastewater Treatment and Communications among others.

Description and Responsibilities:
• Lead detailed hardware and software design
• Main interface with customer
• Define system architecture requirements
• Develop detailed software design specifications
• Program PLC, DCS and SCADA applications
• Configure historian databases
• Provide control system startup services

Qualifications:
• BS or MS degree in Civil/Mechanical/Chemical/Electrical/Controls Engineering or related field
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the implementation of detailed designs with PLC, DCS or SCADA programming
• Understanding of process control
• Experience with Allen-Bradley products (ControlLogix, RSView, PanelView Plus, etc.).
• Understanding of control system network topology required, i.e. Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc.
• Industry experience in Biopharmaceutical/Pharmaceutical, Power Generation, or Water/Wastewater a plus
• Experience programming various other control systems is a plus (i.e., GE Fanuc PLC, Siemens PLC, Modicon PLC, ABB DCS, Delta V, Ovation, WDPF, Wonderware and Intellution).
• Experience with telemetry, industrial communications, or cell/WiFI a plus.
• Available for some project travel.
• Strong communication and leadership skills
